Upcycled Surfboard Resin Planter
Celebrating our love of Santa Cruz, we are excited to collaborate with Jeremiah Kille and Mateo Tognoli , local surfboard shapers, to bring these Upcycled Surfboard Resin Planters to life . Together with our friends at Santa Cruz Engraving, we’ve developed a process to repurpose the excess resin left over from making surfboards, which would have otherwise ended up in a landfill as a waste byproduct.
Depending on the desired boad style, look and feel, thin layers of pigmented and clear resin are applied to each board. Over time the excess runoff from these boards builds up and forms a large, unique block of resin which we then cut, sand and shape into these beautiful planters.
The different layers and colors you see throughout the planter come from the different boards being made, and have a story all their own.
